Srinagar, Oct 12: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast light to moderate rainfall across many places in Jammu and Kashmir from October 13 to 15, with light snowfall over higher reaches and the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds.
According to the weather forecast issued by the MeT Centre Srinagar, generally cloudy conditions with light rain at isolated places are likely on October 12, while higher reaches may receive light snowfall.
From October 13 to 15, generally cloudy weather is expected, with light to moderate rain and the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds at many places. Light snowfall is also likely over higher reaches.
The weather is expected to remain generally dry on October 16, although brief spells of light rain may occur at isolated places. Generally dry conditions are forecast across Jammu and Kashmir from October 17 to 24.
Meanwhile, the MeT Centre has advised farmers to ensure the safe storage of harvested apples, paddy and other crops during October 13–15 in view of the expected weather activity.
The advisory also cautioned about the possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds and light snowfall over important mountain passes, roads and highways during the period.
Travellers, transporters and the general public have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow traffic advisories.
