Sponsored Story

Lexicon of Style is looking for a highly organized, creative, extremely reliable and self-motivated Social Media + Creative Assistant Intern to work directly with Lex on the day-to-day operations and continued growth of Lexicon of Style.

This is a hands-on role combining social media, content creation, trend forecasting, fashion, events and personal/creator assistance. We’re looking for someone who is equally excited about the creative side of the industry and the organization required behind the scenes to make everything happen.

The position will begin as an internship, with school credit available, and has the opportunity to grow into a paid assistant position for the right person.

Start date: ASAP, with training beginning immediately ahead of New York Fashion Week.
THE ROLE
No two days will look exactly the same. One day you may be editing TikToks and brainstorming trends, and another you may be helping style looks, organizing gifting, managing a calendar, attending a brand event or capturing content around NYC.
We need someone who can comfortably move between being highly creative and incredibly organized — and who can take ownership of their responsibilities without needing constant direction.
SOCIAL MEDIA + CONTENT
• Identify emerging TikTok, Instagram and YouTube trends and proactively pitch ways to adapt them to Lexicon of Style
•  Help brainstorm hooks, storytelling formats, recurring series and quick-turn social concepts
•  Film and edit engaging short-form content using CapCut and Instagram Edits
•  Turn raw footage into polished, social-first videos with strong hooks, pacing, text overlays, sounds and storytelling
•  Assist with posting and managing content across TikTok and YouTube
•  Strategically repurpose existing content across platforms
•  Stay plugged into internet culture, fashion, beauty, lifestyle and creator trends
•  Help identify opportunities for timely, potentially viral content
•  Capture behind-the-scenes and social-first content at events, shoots and Fashion Week
•  Attend select events on behalf of Lexicon of Style, capture the experience and create short-form recap content afterward
A strong instinct for trend forecasting, storytelling and what makes people stop scrolling is a major part of this role.
CREATIVE + FASHION
•  Assist with styling and wardrobe organization
•  Help pull, plan and organize looks for events, shoots, travel and Fashion Week
•  Assist with samples, clothing loans, returns and gifting
• Create mood boards and gather visual references
• Help concept and art direct content
• Bring creative ideas to the table rather than always waiting for direction
• Help translate current trends into content that still feels authentic to the Lexicon of Style brand
ASSISTANT + BUSINESS OPERATIONS
• Manage and maintain Lex’s Google Calendar
• Add and organize events, appointments, shoots, deadlines and all necessary logistical information
• Help monitor and respond to appropriate emails, invitations and RSVPs
• Maintain master lists for restaurants, recommendations, contacts and other resources
• Manage incoming brand gifting, packages, pickups and returns
• Manage and fulfill Poshmark orders
• Organize photos, videos, campaign assets and documents through Google Drive
• Keep track of ongoing projects, tasks and deadlines so things don’t fall through the cracks
• Assist with event and travel logistics
• Run occasional NYC errands and assist with day-to-day needs
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Reliability is non-negotiable.
We’re looking for someone who is self-sufficient, disciplined, resourceful and genuinely takes ownership of their work.
You should be someone who:
• Does what you say you’re going to do and follows through
• Shows up when and where you say you will
• Communicates proactively — especially before something becomes a problem
• Takes initiative rather than waiting to be given every next step
• Can manage your own time, priorities and deadlines without constant reminders
• Is comfortable working independently once trained
• Is resourceful and naturally looks for solutions when something goes wrong
• Is extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Is outgoing, personable and great with people
• Can confidently represent Lexicon of Style around brands, PR teams, creators and other industry professionals
• Is creative and excited to contribute ideas and opinions
• Understands that social media moves quickly and can adapt when schedules, trends or opportunities change
• Is comfortable receiving feedback and applying it quickly
• Has a genuine interest in fashion, lifestyle, social media and the creator economy
You do not need to know everything on day one. We are happy to teach and train the right person. However, we’re looking for someone who has the initiative to learn quickly, ask smart questions and eventually be able to anticipate what needs to happen next.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should already be comfortable using:
Google Workspace, particularly Google Calendar, Google Drive, Docs and Sheets
 CapCut
Instagram Edits
• Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
• iPhone-based photo and video creation
Because this role involves posting content and working from events and locations throughout NYC, you must have a reliable smartphone, U.S. cellular/data service and the ability to communicate, work and upload content on the go without depending on Wi-Fi.
LOCATION + AVAILABILITY
• Must be NYC-based
• Must be available for regular in-person work
• Williamsburg/Brooklyn-based is a major plus
• Spanish-speaking is a plus
• Must have flexibility during particularly busy periods, especially New York Fashion Week
• Must be comfortable traveling throughout NYC for events, shoots, pickups and errands
• Consistent availability and reliable transportation around NYC are important
WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT
This is a hands-on opportunity to learn what actually goes into building and operating a creator-led business while gaining direct exposure to the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, PR and influencer industries.
• You’ll gain real-world experience across:
• Social media strategy and platform growth
• Trend forecasting
• Short-form video creation and editing
• Content strategy and storytelling
• Influencer marketing and brand partnerships
• Fashion styling, wardrobe and creative direction
• New York Fashion Week
• PR and brand communications
• Creator campaign production from concept through final deliverable
• Events and activations
• The business and operational side of building a personal brand
You’ll also have access to some of the more exciting parts of working within the industry. Depending on the opportunity, you’ll have the chance to attend brand events, launches, activations, fashion events and Fashion Week experiences alongside Lex or occasionally on behalf of Lexicon of Style.
This provides an opportunity to meet and build relationships with brands, PR teams, creators and other industry professionals while gaining experience you can add directly to your résumé and portfolio.
PERKS
Lexicon of Style receives a significant amount of fashion, beauty and lifestyle PR gifting, and there are frequently products, samples and gifting available to the team.
Other perks can include:
• Invitations to select brand and industry events
• Fashion Week exposure and experiences
• Networking opportunities with brands, PR agencies and creators
• Hands-on access to professional content shoots and campaigns
• Portfolio-building opportunities
• Fashion, beauty and lifestyle PR gifting
• Direct mentorship and insight into the creator industry and the business behind social media
Most importantly, this isn’t intended to be an internship that stays an internship forever. For the right person who becomes a reliable and integral part of the team, there is a real opportunity to transition into a paid assistant position and grow alongside Lexicon of Style.
We’re continuing to expand across platforms and explore new ways to grow Lexicon of Style beyond traditional social media — including long-form/editorial content, Substack and the potential development of a broader lifestyle brand.
We’re looking for someone who’s excited by the opportunity to help build that next chapter.
