Mysuru: A four-year-old leopard was killed on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Arabithittu Wildlife Sanctuary near Hunsur Friday evening, said Hunsur territorial forest deputy conservator of forests (DCF) RT Kirubananthan.Forest officials recovered the carcass and disposed of it in accordance with guidelines after completing the formal procedures, Kirubananthan told TOI.A case has been registered, and the Hunsur range forest officer has been appointed as the investigation officer, the DCF said.According to foresters, the animal was crossing the road from the protected forest region of Arabithittu to the opposite side when a speeding vehicle travelling from Hunsur to Mysuru hit it.
