Wanted In Gym Operator’s Murder, Gang Says Encounter Staged
The injured constable, Ankit, was referred to a super-speciality hospital
Gurgaon: Two alleged shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were killed in an encounter in Bahadurgarh on Sunday. A police constable sustained a bullet injury during the exchange of fire — between a joint team of the Haryana Police special task force (STF) and Delhi Police special cell and the gangsters — while four other personnel escaped after bullets struck their bulletproof jackets.The deceased — Parvesh, a resident of Tibba Danasher in Hisar, and Himanshu, a resident of Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district — were wanted in the murder of a gym operator in Hisar and carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh each. The injured accused were taken to Civil Hospital, Bahadurgarh, where doctors declared them dead. The injured constable, Ankit, was referred to a superspeciality hospital.According to police, the duo were wanted in connection with the broad daylight murder of Kapil in Hansi on June 11. A case was registered at City Hansi police station under sections 103(1), 109(1), 3(5) and 61(2)(A) of the BNS and relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Police identified the duo as the main shooters in the case during the investigation.STF SP Vikrant Bhushan said the counter intelligence unit of Delhi Police special cell received a specific tip-off about the movement of the two accused. “Last month, Kapil was murdered by two unidentified individuals in Hansi. During the investigation, the two key shooters were identified as Parvesh and Himanshu of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. On Sunday, further development of the input revealed that they were armed and planning to commit another crime,” Bhushan said, adding that the joint team laid a trap in the Bahadurgarh area of Jhajjar district.“When the teams attempted to stop them, the shooters opened fire. In self-defence, the police teams retaliated. A police constable sustained a bullet injury in his leg, while four other officers were hit on their bulletproof jackets,” the SP said. Police said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the accused.
