Srinagar, Sep 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday said that the Ladli Beti Scheme is currently being implemented in eight districts of the Union Territory.
The information was provided by the government in response to an unstarred question tabled by MLA Baldev Raj Sharma.
The reply said the scheme is being implemented in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Pulwama, Budgam, Anantnag, Srinagar and Kishtwar districts. The government was also asked to clarify the reasons for extending the scheme to the remaining districts of Jammu and Kashmir
In response to a question regarding the date of introduction of the scheme and whether there was any proposal to implement it more widely, the government has it has no such proposal while the matter was under review in the Finance Department.
