Ganderbal, Sep 24: Dialysis and endoscopy services are set to start soon at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan as the Health Department has initiated the process for operationalising the facilities official sources said.
According to sources in the Health Department, the necessary procedures and arrangements for starting the two services are underway, and the facilities are expected to become functional soon.
The introduction of dialysis services at the SDH will provide relief to patients suffering from kidney-related ailments, particularly those who require regular dialysis. Presently, patients from Kangan and adjoining far-flung areas travel to hospitals in Srinagar or depend on private facilities.
For patients requiring frequent dialysis, travelling long distances for every session can be difficult and adds to the overall cost and inconvenience for both patients and their attendants.
Similarly, endoscopy services also as part of the ongoing process. Patients requiring endoscopic procedures are currently referred to higher centres, mainly Srinagar or private facilities.
Official sources said the process for operationalising both facilities had already started at SDH Kangan and the services will be made functional soon after the required arrangements are completed.
