Bhubaneswar: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has approved the commencement of academic activities at the newly sanctioned Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Padampur, in Bargarh district from the 2026–27 academic session, following the transfer of land and identification of suitable temporary accommodation by the sponsoring authority.In an official order issued by the KVS, the Sangathan stated that the school will function under the civil sector and will temporarily operate from Rajborasambar High School, Padampur, in Bargarh district. The school is among the 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas sanctioned by the Govt of India in Oct 2025. Of these 57 new KVs, six including the one at Bargarh have been approved for Odisha.According to the order, the Kendriya Vidyalaya will initially offer classes from Balvatika-I to Balvatika-III and Classes I to V, with one section in each class. The institution will subsequently expand to higher classes in a phased manner, subject to feasibility and approval from the KVS.The admission process is expected to be completed within 30 days after all remaining formalities related to the takeover of land and temporary accommodation are completed, officials of KVS said. The school will follow the CBSE curriculum and provide educational facilities to children of central govt employees as well as other eligible students under the Kendriya Vidyalaya admission policy.Sangathan officials said the establishment of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya is expected to significantly improve access to quality central school education for students in the Padampur region and surrounding areas of western Odisha.
