Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday questioned the state govt’s allotment of land worth Rs 250 crore at Tukkuguda, near Bharat Future City, to Tesseract Advanced Systems for Rs 7 crore, alleging links between the company and chief minister Revanth Reddy’s family.KTR, along with former ministers T Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Sabita Indra Reddy, besides BRS MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders, visited the site and demanded that the govt make all details of the transaction public.Questioning the allotment at what he described as a steep discount to market value, KTR asked whether extending govt land, concessions and exemptions to businesses linked to the CM’s family amounted to abuse of power and conflict of interest.He also questioned the BJP-led Centre and agencies including the ED, Income Tax department and CBI over their alleged inaction on the matter. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah’s claims that Telangana had become a “Congress ATM”, KTR asked why the Centre was not acting if it believed public resources were being misused.KTR further alleged that the govt was promoting a “real estate business” in the name of Future City. He questioned the use of land originally acquired for the proposed Pharma City for other purposes and sought clarity on the legal basis for the change.Alleging that BRS legislators were suspended from the Assembly when they sought to raise the issue, KTR said the party had taken its protest to the site instead. He challenged the govt to extend similar land allotments and concessions to ordinary citizens, farmers and young entrepreneurs.“If someone comes forward saying they want to invest with a capital of Rs 1 lakh, will you give them land worth Rs 200 crore? Will you provide us with the same concessions and exemptions?” he asked.The BRS leader said his party would continue its campaign, including village-level meetings across Rangareddy district, and explore legal and democratic avenues. He urged the media to examine the legal and financial implications of the Future City project and alert potential investors to any risks.KTR reiterated his demand for transparency and accountability in the use of govt land and public money.
