Hyderabad: Deeptech startup Hylenr Technologies on Wednesday said new tests of its hydrogen-loaded reactor system have detected unusual heat generation and elemental signatures, including rare-earth-related findings, that could point to applications in critical materials and industrial energy.The company presented its results at the 27th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science in Niagara Falls, Canada, held from Aug 31 to Sept 4. The study, “Nuclear Signatures in a Hydrogen-Loaded Ni-Pd Lattice Confinement System,” examined non-conventional nuclear processes in hydrogen-loaded materials.Hylenr said measurements showed increased signals linked to helium, neon and argon, while nitrogen, used as an indicator of atmospheric leakage, did not show a corresponding increase. Post-operation analysis found localised surface structures and changed elemental distributions. Across its broader materials programme, the company reported signatures associated with 32 elements, including rare-earth elements.Hylenr Technologies co-founder and board member Siddharth Durairajan said the findings could combine energy generation and critical-material production on one platform, with potential to deliver heat for industrial uses.Ram Ramaseshan, co-founder, Hylenr Technologies, said the rare-earth results suggest a possible route to selected strategic materials.The company said it will now focus on controlled reaction products, performance, scale-up and further materials and isotope analysis. Hylenr holds an Indian patent for its low-energy nuclear reactor.
