Kanpur: Former President of India Ramnath Kovind arrived here on Saturday to attend the three-day micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) conclave and Regional Trade Show organized at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) here. The event was organised under the joint aegis of the agricultural university and the MSME department on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee year.Upon the arrival of the former President, UP minister Rakesh Sachan welcomed and felicitated him. The former President paid floral tributes to the statue of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad.He subsequently visited the three-day exhibition organized on the university campus, and inspected various stalls related to ODOP/ODOC, Textile, Mukhyamantri Yuva Yojana, AgriTech, Manufacturing and Service Sector, gathered information about the displayed innovations and products, and encouraged the entrepreneurs.Kovind, while appreciating the startups, local industries and innovations, said that such events play an important role in promoting entrepreneurship and inspiring youth towards self-employment. Vice-chancellor K. Vijayendra Pandian said that through this regional trade show, youth will get new inspiration towards the development of industries.MLA Surendra Maithani, Dean of Agriculture Faculty Kaushal Kumar, Director of Extension VK Tripathi along with other officials and dignitaries were present at the event.
