Koraput: In a significant achievement under the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) programme, the border gram panchayat (GP) of Kotia in Koraput district’s Pottangi block has completed 100% enumeration form (EF) collection and digitisation, marking a major milestone in the electoral roll updation process. It is a notable administrative achievement as 21 of its 28 villages in Kotia GP have been at the centre of an inter-state boundary dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh since 1968.“Despite the geographical challenges and scattered habitations, our field staff worked with dedication and ensured that every eligible elector is covered. The success reflects our commitment to maintaining an accurate, inclusive and error-free electoral roll,” said tehsildar Debendra Dharua, who along with BDO-cum-assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) Ramakrishna Nayak closely monitored the exercise ensuring its timely completion.Official sources said the task was executed through the co-ordinated efforts of the district administration, election officials and field-level functionaries. Continuous field visits, daily monitoring and close coordination among booth level officers (BLOs), supervisors and local stakeholders played a crucial role in the successful completion of the drive, said Nayak.Officials said documentation relating to uncollectable and absentee, shifted and dead (ASD) cases has been uploaded in accordance with prescribed guidelines.Collector (Koraput) and district election officer Manoj Satyaban Mahajan lauded the efforts of the field officials and staff involved in the exercise for its completion within the stipulated timeframe.
