Madikeri: Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar Saturday claimed that Kodagu lost the opportunity for a separate parliamentary constituency as the delimitation process was blocked by the opposition.Kodagu residents have been demanding a separate Lok Sabha constituency for many years, he said, adding that the district needs independent representation, which he supports. Had delimitation been approved, Kodagu would have got its own seat, he stated.Wadiyar accused Congress and its allies of spreading misinformation on delimitation and said their objective was to oppose the ruling party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.‘BJP will push women’s quota bill’He also said the Prime Minister proposed women’s reservation in state legislatures and Parliament to ensure representation for women who protect culture and tradition. Modi had stressed that there was no need to attach political or personal issues to the proposal and had cleared all doubts, he added.BJP will continue its efforts to implement women’s reservation, he asserted, adding that opposition parties did not support the move and were unnecessarily creating controversy over the issue.
