Mysuru: The chief minister’s secretariat intervened to ensure Aadhaar for 166 tribal students studying in the state-run Ashrama schools of Chamarajanagar district.In response to the TOI report published on April 22 highlighting that 166 tribal students are yet to get their Aadhaar due to the non-availability of their birth certificates, the secretariat has intervened.In a letter to the secretary, tribal welfare department, and the DC, Chamarajanagar district, Officer on Special Duty to CM stated that she has been directed by the CM to take immediate action and submit the action-taken report.The district tribal welfare officer said in the National Lok Adalat held in Dec 2025 that birth certificates were received for all students, and action has been taken to issue Aadhaar to all Ashrama school students.Activists thanked the department for assuring early Aadhaar for the students. “We hope govt agencies will ensure that our students will get the Aadhaar without any further delay,” said activist Nagendra Ganiga Mangala, president of Adivasi Hitarakshana Samiti, Chamarajanagar.
