Delhi Capitals have put an end to speculation surrounding KL Rahul’s future, making it clear that the wicketkeeper-batter remains an important part of their plans and is not heading to any other franchise.Rumours about a potential trade involving Rahul had gathered momentum on social media over the past two weeks, Neither the franchise nor Rahul had officially addressed the speculation until Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal broke his silence.Jindal made it clear that Delhi have no intention of parting ways with Rahul, highlighting both his performances and his selfless approach to the team.“KL IS KLUTCH FOR @DelhiCapitals – one of the nicest guys I know and one who puts the team before himself always. We have unfinished business and will work hard together to make Delhi proud @IPL,” Jindal wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Rahul responded to Jindal’s post, seemingly putting any doubts over his future to rest.“Thank you, can’t wait for the coming season,” the Indian batter wrote.The speculation surrounding Rahul gained traction after Delhi added Rishabh Pant to their squad earlier this year, having traded Kuldeep Yadav to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).The arrival of Pant means Delhi now have two established wicketkeeping options, while both players have experience of leading teams. Axar Patel remains another leadership option, although his position could come under scrutiny following Delhi’s disappointing results in the 2025 and 2026 editions.Despite that combination, Jindal’s comments suggest Delhi see Rahul as central to their plans rather than someone they are looking to move on.Rahul has also provided the franchise with considerable consistency since joining them. In his first two seasons with Delhi, he crossed the 1,000-run mark, establishing himself as one of their most reliable batters at the top of the order.With Pant expected to take over the wicketkeeping responsibilities, Rahul could now have greater freedom to focus solely on his batting.
