T’puram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the health sector has witnessed significant changes over the past 10 years, adding that efforts will be made to resolve issues and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for lapses.He said that not only the health sector, but all sectors have undergone transformation. “We must recognise how far we have progressed from the state’s earlier condition,” the CM said after inaugurating various development projects in Nedumangad constituency.

Govt hospitals have been transformed into centres capable of treating modern-day diseases, he said, adding that the Covid period proved this. Treatment was made accessible to all sections of the people, and hospitals across regions have become more people-friendly. Kerala holds a proud position in reducing neonatal mortality rates, he said, claiming that the state has even surpassed the US in this regard. “This is the achievement our state has made,” he added. tnn
