New Delhi: A day after the Rouse Avenue Court discharged them in the Delhi excise policy case, AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia offered prayers at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place on Saturday.“Today, along with my wife Sunita and other party colleagues, I bowed my head at the feet of Lord Bajrang Bali Ji at Pracheen Hanuman Mandir located in Connaught Place. May the Lord maintain happiness, peace and courage in everyone’s life. May He bring welfare to all,” Kejriwal said later. The court on Friday discharged AAP national convener and former chief minister Kejriwal, former deputy CM Manish Sisodia and 21 others, criticising the manner in which the probe into alleged corruption charges was conducted by CBI.Kejriwal will address a rally at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. The event, scheduled to start at 11am, is expected to draw AAP functionaries and workers from several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat and Goa. Party functionaries said the first rally since the Friday order would serve as a platform to counter a “sustained political campaign by BJP to tarnish AAP’s image and target its leadership”. AAP is trying to build on the relief the party has got following the court order and wants to deliver a national message from Jantar Mantar as it eyes expanding its footprint in the assembly elections next year in Punjab, Gujarat and Goa, said sources.
