Varanasi: The 7 UP Naval Unit NCC of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) organised a kayaking training session at Assi Ghat on Tuesday. The programme was conducted under NCC Group Headquarters Varanasi ‘A’ for 60 cadets from the Navy and Army wings.The cadets were trained in basic and advanced kayaking techniques, paddle handling, maintaining balance in flowing water, and practical river navigation skills. The exercise conducted in the expansive waters near Assi Ghat significantly strengthened the cadets’ confidence, courage, and spirit of teamwork. The training was conducted under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, Commander Nikhil Vaish with the coordination of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Varanasi Municipal Corporation (VMC). The NDRF team ensured necessary water safety arrangements during the training.The event was attended by ANO Lieutenant Commander Praveen Prakash and Second Officer Yogesh Kumar of 7 Naval NCC.
