Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha demanded the Centre to pass the BC reservation bill granting 50% representation in legislative bodies in upcoming Parliamentary budget session.“If the Centre fails to pass the BC reservation bill before the budget session, we will mobilize thousands of activists and lead a massive ‘Chalo Delhi’ rally with over 1,000 cars. Drawing inspiration from the revolutionary spirit of Maroju Veeranna, we will force the powers in Delhi to yield to the democratic rights of the people,” Kavitha said while addressing a massive `Samajika Nyaya Telangana Sankalpa Sabha’ meeting at Saroornagar stadium on Thursday.Criticising both the ruling party and the opposition, Kavitha targeted local Congress leadership, stating that leaders in Telangana are playing a double game; “wrestling in the alleys of Hyderabad while maintaining friendships in Delhi.” She demanded that the 42% BC reservation bill passed by the state, which is currently pending approval with the central govt, must be cleared without administrative stalling.With thousands of delegates, leaders, and citizens from across Telangana, Kavitha presided over the meeting. Kavitha announced a relentless nationwide movement aimed at securing 50% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in legislative bodies, alongside an 11-point charter of resolutions for the complete empowerment of all marginalized communities.Responding to political opponents who have questioned her standing to advocate for BC, Kavitha said “When I speak for the rights of BCs, some mock me citing my background. But let me be crystal clear. My birth was not in my hands, but deciding who I dedicate my life and work for is entirely in my hands. I am dedicating my life to working alongside communities that have not even seen the threshold of a gram panchayat, until every single one of them is fully empowered.“Kavitha called upon all democratic forces, BC organizations, civil society groups, and citizens to set aside minor differences and join hands under the banner of social justice. “To fight for equal justice for all sections, one needs guts and courage. I have both, and I will stand on the frontlines until true social justice is delivered,” she declared.ends/
