HYDERABAD: The body of an unknown woman was found in a garbage fire in Kavadiguda area under Domalguda PS late on Wednesday night. Alerted by the locals, police and fire department personnel reached the spot and the body was shifted for postmortem after the fire was doused. Police suspect that the body of the victim was dumped there by unknown persons and her identity is yet to be established.According to Gandhi Nagar ACP A Yadagiri, an alert was received by the police control room at around 11.30 pm about a fire at a garbage dump near Goshala in Kavadiguda. The body of an unknown woman was found in the garbage that was on fire. A fire tender from Secretariat fire station reached the spot and doused the flames. “We received a call at 11.30 pm and our team sprayed the water around to ensure fire did not spread, while also ensuring that the evidence is not destroyed,” DFO, Secunderabad, Ajmeera Sreedas said.After the fire was put out, the charred body of an unknown woman was shifted for autopsy. “Identity and even the age of the victim is also not yet ascertained,” the ACP said.Details of the body were shared with all the police stations in the city to identify the victim. Police suspect that unknown offenders had dumped the body and set the garbage on fire to destroy evidence. A police team started analysing the CCTV footage available near the crime scene to find out how the victim had reached the spot.A case was registered under section 194 (suspicious death) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) by Domalguda police.
