Prayagraj: Kaushambi police on Thursday recovered 121 lost mobile phones worth around Rs 25 lakh and returned them to their owners. The recovery followed complaints lodged by the public through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.A senior police official said the phones were recovered from 11 police station areas, including Sarayakil (19), Saini (15), Paschim Sarira (18), Karari (16), Charwa (12), Majhanpur (20), Kokhraj (2), Kada Dham (6), Pipri (1), Mohabbatpur Painsa (1) and Sandipan Ghat (5).Police used call detail records, CCTV footage, location tracking and inputs from the CEIR portal to trace and recover the devices, the official added. The recovered phones were subsequently handed over to their rightful owners.
