BENGALURU: Several Karnataka government online services, including applications processed through Seva Sindhu and other portals, will remain unavailable for 24 hours from Thursday night as the state undertakes a critical infrastructure upgrade at its State Data Centre (SDC).Officials said services linked to the SDC will be shut from 9pm on Thursday (June 25) until 9pm on Friday (June 26) to facilitate the upgrade of the data centre’s UPS and battery systems.“For the State Data Centre, a critical infrastructure upgrade of the UPS and battery system is being taken up from 9pm on June 25 for 24 hours. Most government applications linked to the SDC will remain unavailable during this period and will resume once the maintenance work is completed,” principal secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey said.Officials said the existing UPS system has been in operation for 14 years and is being replaced with newer, energy-efficient technology based on lithium-ion batteries.Pandey also said the Karnataka government’s e-office platform, used across the state secretariat, will undergo a software upgrade over the weekend.“The e-office software will be upgraded to a newer version on June 27 and 28 to enhance security. The system will be back online on Monday morning,” he said.The maintenance schedule has been planned to minimise disruption, as Friday is a public holiday and the following two days are the fourth Saturday and Sunday, when government offices remain closed to the public.E-governance Minister Priyank Kharge appealed for public cooperation, saying the temporary disruption was necessary to strengthen the security and efficiency of the state’s digital infrastructure.
