Bengaluru: With recruitment for 74,000 posts set to begin, the state govt has rolled out a multi-layered security system to make recruitment examinations leak-proof and transparent.Home minister Priyank Kharge Saturday said the new safeguards include one-time lockable security trunks that trigger automatic alerts if opened without authorisation, five-layer tamper-proof packaging of question papers and high-security printing outside Karnataka.In another first, jammers will be installed in every examination room instead of only at examination centres. Each candidate in the same hall will receive a different sequence of questions and answer options through complete randomisation, reducing the scope for copying.To boost transparency, OMR sheets will be uploaded on the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website within 24 hours of receipt, even before evaluation, allowing candidates to verify their answer sheets.Examination centres will be sanitised 24 hours in advance, monitored through CCTV cameras and inspected by flying squads. Police and district authorities have been issued detailed standard operating procedures, while secure transport of question papers and OMR sheets has been put in place.The govt will also monitor WhatsApp, Telegram, BitChat and Snapchat to detect rumours or question paper leaks. Surveillance has been stepped up on those accused in earlier exam scams, while coaching centres have been warned of strict action if they fail to report suspicious activities.Candidates will be informed through admit cards about permitted and prohibited items.
