Vadodara: To enhance suburban rail connectivity and serve growing passenger demand, Vadodara division of Western Railway introduced a new DEMU service between Pratapnagar and Miyagam Karjan via Dabhoi, while also extending the existing Kathana-Vadodara DEMU up to Pratapnagar.Both changes will come into effect from Sunday.According to divisional public relations officer Anubhav Saxena, the new Pratapnagar-Miyagam Karjan DEMU (Trains 79462/79461) will operate six days a week, excluding Saturdays.The train will depart Pratapnagar at 11am and reach Miyagam Karjan at 12.50pm, while on the return journey, it will leave Miyagam Karjan at 2.30pm and arrive at Pratapnagar at 4.20pm. The trains will halt at Kundela, Dabhoi and Kavyarohan stations in both directions.The Kathana-Vadodara DEMU service has been extended up to Pratapnagar, with minor revisions in timings at Vadodara and Bajwa stations.Under the revised schedule, Train 79440 (Kathana-Pratapnagar DEMU) will depart Kathana at 5.15am and reach Pratapnagar at 9.50am. On the return leg, Train 79439 (Pratapnagar-Kathana DEMU) will leave Pratapnagar at 4.35 pm and reach Kathana at 9 m. The train will pass through Bajwa and Vadodara, halting at Bajwa at 9-9.01am and Vadodara at 9.23-9.25am in the up direction, while in the down direction it will stop at Vadodara at 4.53-4.55 pm and Bajwa at 5.09-5.10pm.Railway officials said these initiatives are aimed at improving last-mile connectivity and easing commutes for passengers travelling across the Vadodara suburban section. Passengers have been advised to take note of the revised schedules while planning their journeys.
