Kanpur: A NEET-UG candidate from Kanpur staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday, alleging discrepancies in her re-NEET result. Claiming that her score changed multiple times on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website, she demanded that the agency release her original OMR sheet.Arya Singh, a resident of Panki Ratanpur, joined the protest along with her father, Rakesh Singh, a former Army personnel. Raising the slogan, “Show us the marksheet”, the family alleged that the results displayed on the NTA portal were inconsistent.According to Arya, based on the official answer key, she expected to score 609 marks. However, when the re-NEET result was declared on Thursday night, the website initially showed 540 marks. She claimed that when she checked the result again around 2 am, her score had changed to 167 marks.Her father said that if the authorities fail to provide a satisfactory response or rectify the issue within two days, the family will move court.Rakesh said that during the protest at Jantar Mantar, Arya addressed the gathering and explained how her result had allegedly changed three times. He added that she had emailed the NTA along with the relevant evidence, but had not received any response so far.Demanding transparency, Rakesh urged the NTA to provide Arya’s original OMR sheet. He said that if the agency failed to give a satisfactory response, the family would approach the court.The student has reportedly submitted complaints to Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the NTA via email and the social media platform X, enclosing supporting documents, including her OMR sheet, proof of answer key challenge submission, the revised OMR record and the final answer key, while seeking an official clarification.
