Dharapuram: DMK MP Kanimozhi on Monday appealed to voters in Dharapuram not to vote for AIADMK, which was “incapable of safeguarding its own MLAs”, or TVK, which “poached MLAs” from other parties.Kanimozhi said there might be sympathy towards AIADMK because the party had lost its MLA elected from the constituency to TVK. “You may think about voting for AIADMK because the party was cheated. But what is the point of voting for a party that is not even capable of safeguarding its MLAs,” she asked. TVK, which was poaching MLAs from other parties, doesn’t deserve votes either, she said.“In contrast, not a single MLA or MP of DMK had left the party after raids and cases. So if you vote for DMK, your vote and the MLA of your constituency will be safe,” she said.Targeting chief minister C Joseph Vijay, she said TVK came to power giving a slew of promises but failed to fulfil them. “Dear brother Vijay promised ₹2,500 for women, six cylinders for all families, complete waiver of farm loans and ₹4,000 for unemployed youth. Did he fulfil those promises,” she asked. Vijay failed in giving proper governance as well, she said.
