Mangaluru: Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath congratulated the police department and police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy on the arrest of 11 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the city. He stressed that it was entirely a police operation and that the Congress govt in the state had absolutely no role in it. Kamath alleged that the ongoing permanent resident certificate (PRC) process, introduced by the Congress govt, is proving to be a boon for illegal migrants. He accused the Congress of compromising national security “merely for vote-bank politics”, adding that the state govt would be directly responsible for any future mishaps resulting from this. He demanded an immediate investigation into how many illegal migrants have already obtained PRCs. Kamath said that, unfortunately, home minister Priyank Kharge has been alleging that a “patriotic organisation like the RSS is unregistered” and declaring that its route marches will not be permitted, instead of focusing on pressing security issues. He appealed to the public to remain vigilant, urged employers to thoroughly verify documents before hiring anyone, and requested that everyone actively cooperate with the police department in case of any suspicious activity.
