T’puram: Ayiroor police on Wednesday arrested a 26-year-old man for violating an externment order issued under Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (Kaapa).The accused, Aromal alias Helmet Manu of Enaruvila, Ayurur, is a history-sheeter with multiple cases registered against him, including offences related to violence against women and possession of narcotics. Cases are pending against him at Paravoor, Paripally and Varkala police stations.He is also an accused in a recent stabbing incident in Varkala, in which a police officer was attacked with a screwdriver following personal enmity, police said.Aromal had earlier been externed under Kaapa, barring him from entering the district for one year due to his repeated involvement in criminal activities. However, he allegedly violated the order by entering Kovoor area under Ayiroor police station limits and was involved in a fresh altercation, which led to his arrest. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
