Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha on Thursday said she would announce the launch of her proposed party after finalising an auspicious time and asserted that her fight would be with ‘Daddy, Modi and Chinna (junior) Modi’, an apparent reference to her father and former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM A Revanth Reddy, respectively.

In an informal interaction with mediapersons here, Kavitha said she is working on the main agenda of her proposed party and would like to meet national leaders after Ram Navami (on March 27) before announcing its launch. Also Read: Delhi HC nudges EC on K Kavitha’s Telangana Praja Jagruti plea

She further said she would work with CPI (M), CPI ML (New Democracy), Visaradan Maharaj of Dharma Samaj party and people’s organisations in the future.

She alleged that the ruling Congress and CM Revanth Reddy are using her differences with BRS to their political advantage.

Meanwhile, speaking after attending Telugu New Year Ugadi celebrations, she unveiled the “Jagruthi People’s Budget 2026-27” for Telangana, proposing an allotment of Rs 2.15 lakh crore to various sectors, including education, healthcare and agriculture, among others.

Kavitha had earlier said she is likely to launch her proposed political party in May this year.

She had also said Telangana and its interests would be the party’s “motherboard” and that the party’s name would have Telangana in it.

Kavitha was suspended from the BRS in September, 2025 after she accused her cousins and party leaders T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar of “tarnishing” her father and BRS president Rao’s image over the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project built during the BRS regime.

Since her suspension, she has been focusing on public issues under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural organisation she heads.
