Kanpur: With the Ganga’s water level rising, joint magistrate and sub-divisional magistrate (Sadar) Anubhav Singh on Thursday inspected flood-affected settlements and reviewed relief arrangements.Singh visited Bhopalpurwa, Bhagwandinpurwa and Baniyapurwa after reports of rising water levels in the settlements. Although water had not entered any houses, inundation of approach roads disrupted residents’ movement.The administration has deployed four boats and two tractors to facilitate the movement of people in the affected areas. The vehicles and boats are being provided free of cost to residents.A flood relief outpost has been set up at the Baniyapurwa intersection, while a relief camp is being operated on the Bhopalpurwa-Baniyapurwa Barrage Road.Medical camps have also been made operational to provide treatment to residents and livestock.
