Hyderabad: Commercial real estate and investment management player JLL opened its 1.2 lakh sq ft advanced global capability centre (GCC), called JLL Business Services (JBS), in Hyderabad on Thursday, marking its second India hub after Gurugram and sixth globally after Dalian (China), Manila, Warsaw and Costa Rica.The US-based company plans to grow the facility, spread across two floors in Financial District, to 1,600 employees over the next two years. Globally, JBS has a headcount of around 7,000.Matthew Rees, chief shared service centre officer and global head of operations, JBS, said hiring has begun, with more than 150 employees already on board and roles planned across finance, HR, technology support, architecture, design, project management, cost management, sales enablement, investment modelling, AI operations and prompt engineering.As JLL’s fully integrated capability centre, JBS delivers mission-critical services including advanced analytics, technology-enabled solutions, and advisory capabilities across finance, HR, project management, lease administration, and business process optimisation.Rees said they are building a strategic operations powerhouse in Hyderabad aligned with JLL’s Accelerate 2030 strategy, combining talent, standardised processes and AI-enabled workflows to support clients worldwide.Inaugurating the facility, Telangana IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad has strengthened its position as a preferred destination for GCCs, attracting nearly 150 GCCs in the past 20 months and creating more than 1.5 lakh high-value technology jobs. He said the state is targeting another 100-plus GCCs this year.He said, at a time when AI, automation and global restructuring are reshaping the technology industry, Telangana’s GCC strategy is designed to future-proof employment by creating the jobs of tomorrow.“While technology companies across the world are restructuring and consolidating their traditional IT operations, Hyderabad continues to demonstrate that innovation-led GCCs are a powerful engine for investment, resilience and high-value job creation,” he added.Radha Dhir, CEO, India, JLL, said the new facility reflects the company’s confidence in Hyderabad, Telangana and India. She said Hyderabad hosts more than 500 active GCCs across over 350 organisations.Dheeraj Popli, head of JLL’s global service centre in India, said the Hyderabad operation extends a business services platform that began as a single centre and now spans two Indian cities with over 3,900 employees.
