Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday extended the stay on criminal proceedings against officers of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in a case lodged with the Airport police station in the city.The ED is investigating a Rs 23-crore fraud committed by one Santosh Kumar, an employee of the drinking water and sanitation department, and likely involvement of senior bureaucrats of the state.
Kumar lodged an FIR on January 12 after he was called by the ED officers for interrogation. The police raided ED office on January 15.ED officers Prateek and Shubham Bharti filed the petition before the high court, seeking a CBI probe in the matter.The high court clamped a stay on the investigation of the FIR on January 16.The matter would next be heard on February 17.
