Jhansi: Several entrepreneurs in Jhansi are exploring Madhya Pradesh as an alternative destination for setting up or expanding their businesses, citing lower land costs, faster clearances, better infrastructure and uninterrupted power supply.Last week, MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) executive director Pratul Chandra Sinha held a series of meetings with local entrepreneurs in Jhansi. According to him, more than 80 entrepreneurs have expressed interest in investments worth around Rs 500 crore and sought over 100 hectares of land in MP.Dheeraj Khullar, president of the Bundelkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI), said the cost of industrial land, infrastructure, subsidies, speedy approvals, reliable electricity and relatively less bureaucratic interferences were among the key factors attracting Jhansi-based entrepreneurs to MP.During the meetings, Sinha offered subsidised industrial land, single-window clearances and uninterrupted power supply, besides assuring cooperation from the state authorities. He also highlighted subsidies of more than 50 percent for eligible entrepreneurs and assured quick approvals.Khullar said more than two dozen local entrepreneurs have already established units in MP over the past decade.Sinha said MPIDC was developing a 425-hectare industrial hub in the Jatara area of Tikamgarh district, described as a priority project of chief minister Mohan Yadav. Amitabh Nagariya, director of Jhansi-based Apra Milk Company, which has a milk processing unit in Niwari, MP, said MP treats industries as customers and provides a supportive business environment.
