Jaipur: Jaipur City Transport Services Ltd (JCTSL) will conduct a route survey within the next two days to explore direct bus connectivity to Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) at Dahmi Kalan, following a memorandum submitted by the university’s ABVP unit Thursday.JCTSL MD Shekhawat and OSD Jyoti Meena assured students that after the survey, the transport agency would coordinate with the concerned depot to explore starting bus operations to the campus.The move follows TOI’s Aug 7 report, “Miles to walk, fares to pay: Neglect turns Jaipur university commute into a daily struggle”, which highlighted HJU students’ transport woes. The campus is about 2.5km from the nearest major bus stop, forcing students to depend on autos and unsafe lifts for last-mile connectivity.ABVP HJU unit president Rakesh Bishnoi said the organisation would continue pursuing the issue until direct bus services were started.The issue had earlier drawn the attention of Bagru MLA Kailash Verma after students protested on Aug 10. He had assured them on Aug 12 that steps would be taken to improve connectivity.
