Ranchi supply circle achieved 97.57% billing coverage in July

Ranchi: Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) recorded its highest-ever billing efficiency in July, issuing electricity bills to 96.59% of its consumers, up 1.59 percentage points from the previous record of 95 in June.According to the discom’s data, bills were generated for 5,413,542 of the 5,604,917 registered consumers across the state. Hazaribag, Koderma, Ramgarh, Jamshedpur and Ranchi emerged as the five best-performing supply circles.Hazaribag topped the state with billing coverage of 99.26%, followed by Koderma at 99.13% and Ramgarh at 98.48%. Jamshedpur and Ranchi achieved coverage of 98.14% and 97.57%, respectively. All supply circles crossed the 90% mark. Dhanbad recorded the lowest coverage at 93.21%, followed by Dumka at 94.14% and Chas at 94.78%.A senior JBVNL official said stringent measures were implemented statewide as part of efforts to achieve 100% billing coverage. Field staff were directed to deploy all available resources to meet the July targets.Management also held regular review meetings with general managers, deputy general managers, electrical executive engineers and private billing agencies, while enforcing strict weekly targets. Officials said underperforming circles would remain under close watch until complete billing coverage was achieved across the state.
