Nagpur: A day after a decomposed body of a woman was discovered in a grain storage room on farmland in Nari Vasti, police have identified her by her saree. While her full identity has not been made public, sources confirmed that the 45-year-old woman hailed from Seoni in Madhya Pradesh. She had been staying in Nara Gaon, roughly 3 kilometres from the desolate storage room where her body was found on Sunday. Locals alerted authorities after spotting the remains, prompting immediate police action.Forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) said the victim had multiple fractures in her pelvic bones and severe head injuries, which likely caused her death. The nature of the injuries indicates foul play rather than an accident, leading police to register the case as murder. Earlier, it had been recorded as an accidental death.Investigators have focused on a man named Yadav, reportedly a close associate of the woman, who is now the prime suspect. He is a native of Madhya Pradesh and is currently absconding. Jaripatka police have launched a manhunt to trace him.“Her distinctive saree, along with assistance from locals familiar with her, helped us confirm her identity. She had been living in the vicinity for some time, reportedly working or residing near the farmlands,” a police source said.Authorities are investigating all possible angles, including personal disputes or other motives linked to her association with Yadav. Interrogations of locals and further forensic analysis are underway to crack the case.
