Noida: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said UP had transformed from “jungle raj” to “mangal raj” as he laid the foundation stone for Amber Enterprises and Ascent-K Circuit’s facilities to manufacture finished printed circuit boards (PCBs), components on which India has massive import dependence.Speaking at the event in Jewar in the backdrop of the June 15 launch of Noida International Airport, he said such big-ticket investments showed UP’s rise as an electronics manufacturing hub. “While India earlier imported printed circuit boards and other electronic components, UP will now manufacture and export these products,” the CM said. The state currently accounts for 55% of the country’s mobile phone manufacturing and 60% of electronic component production, Yogi added. The Amber Enterprises facility, spanning 100 acres in Sector 8 of the Yamuna Expressway area, has a Rs 3,532 crore investment proposal. It will manufacture airconditioners. Ascent-K Circuit’s printed circuit board and semiconductor substrate manufacturing unit, coming up on 16 acres in Sector 10, is supposed to attract Rs 3,250 crore in phased investment. Ascent-K Circuit is a joint venture between Amber Group and South Korea’s Korea Circuit.Referring to the state’s ancient ties with South Korea, Yogi said Korean tradition holds that Queen Heo Hwang-ok was Princess Ratna of Ayodhya, who travelled to the East Asian nation by sea. “During the visit of South Korea’s First Lady to UP, a memorial park was developed in Ayodhya in her memory,” he said. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of SAEL Solar’s solar cell manufacturing project in Sector 8, describing it as a critical step toward energy self-reliance. SAEL proposes to invest Rs 8,253 crore and has been allotted 200 acres of land. “In the last few months, the world has seen and felt the power crisis closely. The supply of petroleum products was restricted through the Strait of Hormuz. Inflation increased globally. The power crisis can derail the path of development of any country. This is why we are aggressively focusing on green energy,” he said.

Yogi said the state aims to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy over the next two to three years, much higher than the current 6,000 MW. He added that nearly 6 lakh people had benefited under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, reducing household electricity consumption and power bills. India, he said, would no longer depend on China for solar technology, but develop its own ecosystem. On ethanol, the CM said the state accounted for 55% of India’s production. “Earlier, sugarcane farmers suffered because of dues and financially distressed mills. Many sugarcane mills were on the verge of closure. In the last nine years, we have paid Rs 3,22,000 crore to sugarcane farmers,” he said.Yogi said environmental and sectoral approvals for the projects had been granted swiftly, attributing the speed to aligned BJP govts at the Centre and in the state. Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav and Union electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present at the event.

Noida Authority’s new administrative building in Sector 96 that the CM inaugurated on Saturday

On the transformation of Jewar itself after Noida airport became operational, the CM noted the contrast with the past. “Earlier, people were scared of visiting Jewar in the evening. But now, all investment proposals are coming to it. This is considered the best investment option in the area,” he said.Later in the day, the CM inaugurated Noida Authority’s new administrative building in Sector 96, the first in the Authority’s 50-year history since its formation in 1976. “This is no less than an achievement for Noida,” he said.Yogi said the govt had also acted on homebuyers’ long-standing grievances, implementing the Amitabh Kant committee’s recommendations and delivering thousands of flats within a year. “Now, Noida’s office will enable seamless services for residents, RWAs, industries and farmers under one roof,” he said. He also directed officials to issue notices to allottees who had failed to develop their land in accordance with approved plans and said such allotments should be cancelled and reallotted.Yogi launched the curtain-raiser for the 4th UP International Trade Show, scheduled for Sept 25-29, highlighting the state’s 96 lakh MSMEs, which employ around four crore people. He urged officials to push for ‘one district, one cuisine’, on the lines of the ‘one district, one product’ scheme. The MSME sector, he said, had been transformed from despair to dynamism since 2017.The CM also inaugurated four infrastructure projects — the Bhangel Elevated Road, a Ranney well and two sewage networks — worth a combined Rs 1,044 crore and laid the foundation for 65 projects covering road redevelopment, resurfacing, bus terminal upgrades and central verge development at Rs 1,434 crore.
