Mangaluru: Jain seers and community leaders have renewed their demand for the establishment of a Jain Development Corporation in Karnataka. The demand was raised on Monday during an event at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru attended by Swasti Shri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Pattacharya Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji of Moodbidri Jain Mutt, Varur Dharmasena Bhattaraka Swamiji, Kollapur Lakshmisena Bhattaraka Swamiji and Kambadahalli Bhanukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji. The seers and members of the Jain community said the demand was being made on behalf of Acharya Gunadharanandi Muni Maharaj and other Jain sages. They urged the govt to establish a separate corporation to support the comprehensive social, educational, cultural and economic development of the Jain community. The community leaders said the proposed corporation would help address the developmental needs of Jains across Karnataka, and ensure focused implementation of welfare and development programmes.
