Mangaluru: Police investigating a counterfeit currency case reported under the Uppinangady police station limits on July 16 conducted searches at two locations in Belthangady after obtaining permission from the court.As the investigation progressed, a team led by the Belthangady DSP searched the residence of absconding accused Abdul Shakeel and a house in Kuvettu village on Sunday, where arrested accused Sandeep had been staying.During the search, police seized a printer, a steel scale, chemical solution bottle, and several other items from Sandeep’s residence. Uppinangady police had busted an alleged counterfeit currency printing racket operating from a building at Adinje in Kaniyooru village of Belthangady taluk and arrested seven persons.
