Gaya: More than one lakh devotees are expected to visit the Iskcon temple in Gaya for ‘darshan’ on Janmashtami on Sept 4.Gaya Iskcon temple president Jagdish Shyam Das said preparations were underway, including the construction of pandals, special attire for the deities and door-to-door invitations by devotees and volunteers.“In view of the expected rush, the temple management has planned barricading from the approach road and a regulated ‘darshan’ system. The temple administration has also sought support from the district administration for crowd, security and traffic management,” Das said.The celebrations will feature five tableaux, including two swing tableaux and three temple tableaux. The temple premises will be decorated with flowers, lights and ‘rangoli’. Harinam sankirtan, Krishna katha and ‘prasad’ distribution will be held throughout the day, he said.“The programme will begin on Sept 4 with ‘mangal aarti’ at 4.30am, followed by mantra meditation, guru puja and Krishna katha. Maha-abhishek will begin at 9pm, followed by the offering of 108 bhog items at 11.30pm and maha aarti at midnight,” Das said.
