Nagpur: International flight operations from Nagpur airport have been suspended after several Middle East airspaces were shut following the ongoing US-Israel war involving Iran, leaving passengers stranded and forcing many travellers to reroute journeys, tour operators said on Friday.Nagpur currently has only two international flight services — Air Arabia’s Sharjah flight and Qatar Airways’ Doha service — both of which have been cancelled until further notice due to airspace restrictions across Iran and parts of the Middle East, sources said.

The disruption has affected not only passengers travelling to the Gulf but also those using these hubs for onward connections to Europe and the United States. The two flights, which operate in the early hours, typically cater to around 100 to 150 passengers daily.“I have started getting calls from clients who had tickets to Doha or Sharjah from Nagpur, or those who were supposed to return via one of these two cities. Since there is time for those who have return travel, they have preferred to wait,” said Raju Kolkar, president of Travel Agents Association of India’s (TAAI) Vidarbha chapter.Travel plans to the Middle East have also been hit, with uncertainty affecting upcoming group tours.
