Instagram’s new Auto Scroll feature lets you watch Reels hands-free. Here’s how to activate it and enjoy non-stop viewing without lifting a finger

Instagram is introducing a handy new feature called Auto Scroll, which allows users to browse Reels and their Feed without having to manually swipe. Once activated, the first Reel will play, and the rest will scroll automatically — ideal for users who like to multitask.
The feature is currently being tested for iPhone users, with plans to expand it to Android devices in the near future.
How To Activate Auto Scroll On Instagram?
To turn on the Auto Scroll feature:
- Open any Reel
- Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner
- Select Auto Scroll from the menu
- Once enabled, Reels will begin to scroll automatically, creating a more seamless, hands-free viewing experience.
Instagram Adds New 3:4 Photo Format
In addition to Auto Scroll, Instagram is now supporting a 3:4 vertical photo size, expanding beyond the previous 1:1 square and 4:5 portrait formats. This change better aligns with the natural aspect ratio of most smartphone cameras.
Instagram’s Head, Adam Mosseri, shared the news on Threads, noting that the new format will apply to both single images and carousel posts.
