HYDERABAD: Taking a cue from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the Telangana unemployed youth have announced the Telangana Endrin Party (TEP) to highlight the govt’s failure to release a job calendar and fill two lakh job vacancies.The Unemployed Youth Joint Action Committee (JAC) said it will soon register the party with the Election Commission and launch it officially at a public meeting in Suryapet. The party has adopted the tagline, Udyogam Maa Hakku, Nyayam Maa Lakshyam (Job is our right, justice is our goal).“Just like CJP, our party was born because of comments made by the state govt against unemployed youth. The govt is turning a blind eye to the problems faced by the youth and is forgetting the promises it made to us. Through this movement, we want to fight for our rights and show the govt the power of the youth,” said Ramavath Indra Nayak from the JAC.
Telangana Endrin Party
In Telangana, there are about 50 lakh unemployed youth. Of these, about 35 lakh to 40 lakh candidates are registered with the Telangana Public Service Commission and are appearing for various examinations in the hope of securing a govt job.Across the country, similar youth-led initiatives have also emerged, such as the E20 Janta Party and the Reservation Hatao Andolan. While the former has about 3.3 lakh followers, the latter has over 44.8 lakh followers on Instagram.“Right now, there are multiple JACs and the youth are not working in tandem. If they all come together, they will become a much stronger force than CJP and can bring about the desired change. In fact, they are powerful enough to make or break a govt,” said Telangana Vittal, an activist.
