DC Ajay Nath Jha directed officials to submit site-specific proposals for road repairs and other essential infrastructure works within seven days

Bokaro: Poor roads, inadequate street lighting, water supply issues and weak connectivity in Bokaro’s industrial zones have prompted the district administration to initiate plans for a comprehensive infrastructure overhaul.Chairing a coordination meeting with industrial representatives on Tuesday, deputy commissioner and JIADA regional director Ajay Nath Jha directed officials to submit site-specific proposals for road repairs and other essential infrastructure works within seven days. The meeting reviewed issues related to electricity, drinking water, roads, street lights, parking, connectivity and other civic amenities in industrial areas under JIADA’s jurisdiction.Emphasising the need for reliable infrastructure to support industrial growth, Jha said, “Uninterrupted power and water supply are crucial for the smooth functioning and future expansion of industrial units. I have asked officials to develop a transparent, meter-based water supply system in which users would be charged according to actual consumption.”The DC also called for the appointment of a dedicated agency for pipeline maintenance, leak detection and technical repairs. To improve safety and connectivity, the administration will conduct a joint survey to identify locations requiring street lights and high-mast lighting, he said. Priority will be given to accident-prone stretches, sharp bends and other vulnerable spots. The feasibility of solar-powered lighting will also be explored.Industrial representatives have been asked to provide details of roads requiring repair, resurfacing, culvert construction or connectivity improvements within a week.Jha also stressed the need for adequate parking facilities on industrial premises. Rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge measures were discussed as part of a long-term strategy for sustainable water management in the industrial belt.
