Ramgarh: Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) on Thursday conducted a chemical safety mock drill at its plant to assess emergency preparedness and disaster response mechanisms.The exercise simulated a chemical leak at the hydrochloric acid (HCl) bulk storage area. During the drill, a person was shown coming into contact with the chemical and was promptly administered first aid before being shifted to Patratu Hospital. He was discharged after treatment.CISF personnel and PVUNL employees participated in the exercise, rehearsing emergency response, evacuation, medical aid and coordination procedures. PVUNL, in a statement, said that the drill was aimed at strengthening preparedness, enhancing safety awareness and ensuring an effective response to chemical emergencies.
