Patna: To help newly admitted undergraduate students acclimatise with the new academic environment and develop a bond with fellow students and teachers, Patna University (PU) colleges on Wednesday organised induction meets on their respective campuses. With excitement and curiosity writ large on their faces, the young boys and girls (some of them accompanied by their guardians) turned up in large numbers for this meet. The classes of the new batch of students (2025-29 session) will start on Thursday.In the induction meet, students were apprised of the history and culture of the institution, the various facilities available on the campus and about the courses and faculty members. This ‘introductory’ meet set the pace for fruitful teaching-learning experiences for the newcomers most of whom have joined the college directly from their schools. At Patna Science College, principal Atul Aditya Pandey reminded the newcomers of the old glory of the college and appealed to them to strive hard to maintain this legacy through hard work and brilliant results. Patna University Students Union president Maithili Mrinalini also addressed the newcomers and asked them to remain disciplined. The union would take care of all their genuine grievances, she said. PU students’ welfare dean Anil Kumar, proctor Manoj Kumar and heads of all undergraduate departments of the college were present on the occasion. At Patna College, the induction meet was held at the college seminar hall in which more than 200 students participated. College principal Sanjay Kumar Sinha presided over the function. The induction meet was also held at Magadh Mahila College, B N College and Vanijya Mahavidyalay.
