Jhansi: The Indian Army organized a Yoga session here on Saturday at Talbehat Military Station as part of the celebrations leading up to the International Day of Yoga, with more than 500 Army personnel, family members and children participating in the event.The programme was conducted in the presence of Brig Viveka Murthy, Commander, 373 Artillery Brigade. Participants performed various Yoga asanas and breathing exercises in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being and holistic health.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from soldiers of all ranks and their families, reflecting a strong commitment towards adopting healthy lifestyle practices.Addressing the participants, Brig Murthy stressed the importance of Yoga as an integral part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. He encouraged Army personnel to incorporate Yoga into their daily routines, noting that the practice not only improves physical fitness but also enhances mental resilience, concentration and emotional well-being.The officials said that Yoga has been institutionalized as a regular component of the fitness regimen at Talbehat Military Station. Army personnel routinely perform Yoga exercises during their morning physical training sessions once every week, reinforcing the Army’s focus on preventive healthcare and operational readiness.
