Silchar: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Sunday threw his weight behind BJP’s campaign in Silchar, asserting that India’s security is “guaranteed” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.Addressing a massive Vijay Sankalp Samabesh at Ashram Road, Saha urged voters to strengthen the PM’s hands to ensure a “double-engine” victory in the upcoming April 9 assembly polls.Campaigning for BJP candidate Rajdeep Roy, the Tripura CM emphasised that the country remains in safe hands despite global uncertainties. Referring to the ongoing West Asia conflict, Saha revealed that CMs were recently briefed by the PM via video conference. “We were assured there is nothing to fear. While some elements spread panic on social media, the reality is that where Modi is, there will be no problem,” he said, reiterating the popular slogan “Modi hai to mumkin hai”.Highlighting developmental strides under BJP, Saha pointed to the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana as a game-changer. He cited success stories from Tripura’s Jampui Hills, where solar energy and rooftop rainwater harvesting have transformed lives in once-remote corners.“Earlier, the region was riddled with scams and insecurity under the UPA regime. Today, Tripura and Assam are witnessing rapid infrastructure growth, from expanded national highways to high-speed internet connectivity,” Saha claimed, adding that the “fear of bomb blasts” has been replaced by peace in Assam.Launching a frontal attack on the Congress, the CM termed it a “disorderly party” that consistently works against national interests. He warned voters against “missing the train” of development. “NDA is like a double-engine train moving swiftly. The doors are still open — join now or you will be left behind,” he said.Saha also targeted the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), labelling it a “carbon copy” of the Left Front. Drawing from his recent visit to Bardhaman, he expressed confidence that the BJP would not only retain power in Assam but also form the government in West Bengal.“I have seen massive support for the BJP in Bengal. The change is coming,” he told the gathering.
