In frame: Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation & WWF-India’s Debut Collaborative Exhibition at India Art Fair 2026

Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation (CPB) and WWF-India came together for the first time at India Art Fair 2026 with In Dialogue with Nature. This compelling photography-led exhibition brings art and conservation into a shared frame. Supported by Dr. Pheroza J Godrej and Tarana Sawhney, the project features limited-edition works by 20 artists from across India, presented in an act of solidarity to support WWF-India’s conservation initiatives and CPB’s education programmes. In Dialogue with Nature explored the delicate, often uneasy relationship between humans, wildlife, and landscapes. Through intimate encounters, quiet observation, and layered visual narratives, the exhibition invited viewers to see nature not as a backdrop, but as a living, interdependent presence shaped by—and shaping—human action.Reflecting on the collaboration, Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej and Tarana Sawhney note that photography has the power to reveal what lies beneath the surface, “When we look at a photograph, we see a moment captured, but what often goes unseen are the forces behind it — place, people, environment, memory. For both of us, photography is not just an art form; it is a way of understanding how we relate to the world and to one another. That belief sits at the heart of this collaboration between Chennai Photo Biennale and WWF-India”

Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej

They further add, “ At a time of accelerating ecological change, bringing art and conservation into the same frame feels essential. This project invites reflection and action — supporting artists, protecting ecosystems, and reaffirming the power of images to build empathy, responsibility, and lasting care. Premiering at Booth N04, the exhibition foregrounds photography as a catalyst for reflection and action, creating space for deeper public engagement with the natural world while raising vital support for a living planet.”
