New Delhi: In a separate case, police have levelled the charge of attempt to murder against Imran alias Aqib, accused of killing 21-year-old content creator Muskan Sharma at her residence in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar.Police sources said that while trying to apprehend Imran, he allegedly fired at police with the intention of harming them. Subsequently, a case of attempt to murder was registered against him.Thursday night, while conducting searches in the Rajouri Garden area, a police team spotted a suspicious person who was identified as Imran. When they tried to apprehend him, he allegedly opened fire, prompting a retaliation. After 11 rounds of firing, seven by police and four by Imran, he sustained gunshot injuries to both legs.The incident unfolded a day after Imran went to Muskan’s house. An argument had broken out between the two, following which he allegedly attacked her with a knife. Muskan sustained three stab wounds and was also strangled, police said.Investigators suspect the murder was pre-planned, as Imran allegedly carried a knife with him when he went to Muskan’s residence. Police sources said Muskan’s family had alleged that he had been harassing her.After Muskan’s murder, this is the fourth case registered against Imran. He was earlier booked in a POCSO case in 2018, and in a case of culpable homicide in 2021 for allegedly assaulting a man, police said. Both cases were registered at Tilak Nagar police station. Police also found that Imran was heavily dependent on drugs, sources said.
