Dumka: The Godda police on Friday said that the murder of 25-year-old Neeraj Kumar, who was beaten to death on Wednesday night in Rampur village, was a fallout of an illicit affair with his aunt, a distant relative.The sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ashok Priyadarshi of Godda during a press meet on Friday, said a call was received by the Pathargama police station from one Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (52), claiming that someone had trespassed into his house at Rampur village. “Upon reaching the spot, the police found Neeraj tied up and critically injured. He was taken to a community health centre in Pathargama, where he later succumbed to his injuries,” Priyadarshi added.During the investigation, police learnt that Neeraj was in a relationship with his aunt, Pinki Devi (40), wife of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, for the past three to four years. The matter previously led to multiple interventions of village panchayat and frequent disputes between the families.On the night of the incident, Neeraj allegedly entered the house through the roof to meet Pinki Devi.He was caught in a compromising position by the husband, who, along with his brother Diwakar Yadav (55), assaulted him, leading to his death,” the SDPO said,r.The police formally arrested all three accused — Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Diwakar Yadav, and Pinki Devi and sent them to judicial custody The weapons used in the crime such as a bamboo stick, a hammer and a rope were seized by the police.
